Bob Ross (1942–1995) was an iconic American painter, art instructor, and television host known for PBS's The Joy of Painting (1983–1994). A former Air Force Master Sergeant, he developed a calming, "wet-on-wet" technique to create serene landscapes quickly. His gentle, encouraging demeanor made art accessible, building a lasting legacy as "the happy painter".
